Storytime

A calm, welcoming Storytime session designed especially for children who experience the world a little differently.

Sensitive Storytime is for children with a developmental delay, intellectual disability, autism, are withdrawn or sensitive to their surroundings. This inclusive library session allows neurodivergent children and their families to enjoy Storytime in a relaxed, supportive and sensory-considerate environment.

There are no expectations at Sensitive Storytime. Children are welcome to move around, make noise, take breaks, or participate in whatever way feels comfortable for them. Library staff understand that every child is different, and this session is designed to be flexible, patient, and judgment-free.

If you're unsure whether Sensitive Storytime is suitable for your child or would like to discuss this program further, please contact the library.

Ages: Children aged 2 - 5 and their parent/career.
