Swan Hill Regional Library is encouraging residents to get connected, build their digital skills and learn how to stay safe online, with a range of free activities planned for Get Online Week from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October 2026.
From accessing government services and clearing out unwanted emails to recognising online scams, the Library will host a series of practical sessions designed to help residents feel more confident navigating the digital world.
Council’s Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan said Get Online Week was a great opportunity for residents of all ages and abilities to develop their digital skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
"Whether you're new to using technology, want to learn something different or simply need a little help navigating the online world, our library team is here to help.
"So many everyday services are now available online, and we want to make sure everyone in our community has the confidence and skills to access them safely.
"We've put together a fantastic range of free sessions, and you don't need to be tech-savvy to get involved. Just bring your device, your questions and a willingness to learn," Ms Cullinan said.
Residents can also participate in Be Connected Bingo, completing nine online learning activities covering topics such as myGov, mobile banking, Facebook, Service Victoria and online safety.
Completed bingo cards must be returned to Swan Hill Library by 12 noon on Tuesday 27 October, with participants going into the draw to win a $50 Swan Hill Incorporated gift card.
"Learning something new doesn't have to be daunting, and these sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions, pick up some practical tips and become more comfortable using technology.
"We encourage everyone to come along, have a cuppa and make the most of what's on offer," she said.
All sessions are free, with complimentary Wi-Fi, tea, coffee and light refreshments provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices, although limited devices are available at the Library.
Sessions will be held at Swan Hill Library, 53 Campbell Street, Swan Hill. Places are limited for some activities, and bookings are encouraged.
