Robinvale Learning & Community Hub, in partnership with the Reading in the Mallee project, is bringing romance lovers together for a heartwarming evening of books, connection, and conversation. The Robinvale Romance Book Club will take place on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, offering a chance for locals to dive into the sparkling debut novel Mystic Ridge by Australian author Lucy Lever.
Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan, said the event promises a delightful blend of romance, mystery, and magic – and the whole community is invited to join in the fun.
“Readers are warmly welcomed to a friendly discussion about Mystic Ridge, a charming rural rom com filled with quirky characters, heartfelt moments and a dash of ghostly intrigue.
“This free event offers an opportunity to come together, share stories, and enjoy thoughtful conversation in a relaxed and inclusive environment,” Ms Cullinan said.
The event will be held at Robinvale Library from 5pm, and includes light refreshments. Attendees can also collect a free copy of Mystic Ridge from the library in the lead-up to the event.
“This is more than just a book chat – it’s a wonderful way to meet new people, explore a captivating Australian novel, and connect through shared stories.
“It’s also part of a broader collaboration with the Reading in the Mallee initiative, which aims to strengthen community connections through the joy of reading across the region,” Ms Cullinan added.
Mystic Ridge follows Claire, a tarot reader and rainforest guardian, whose peaceful life is turned upside down by a development threat, an old flame, and a fake-dating mix-up with the local newspaper editor. The novel is a delightful mix of humour, romance, and small-town spirit – perfect for fans of Rachael Johns and Alissa Callen.
“This book has something for everyone – love, laughter, and a touch of magic – all set in a vibrant regional setting that many of us will find familiar,” Ms Cullinan said.
