Joining is free and easy! Sign up online or at any branch.
Your membership offers free access to books, talking books, music CDs, documentaries, films and children's DVDs, magazines (online and in-print), eAudiobooks, eBooks and so much more.
Online membership
Complete our online application form to gain instant access to our digital membership. Once finished, your membership will be activated immediately, giving you access to a wide range of digital resources, including eBooks, eAudio, digital magazines, and streaming movies.
Register as an online member
You can easily upgrade your online membership to a full membership. Just visit any of our branches with your identification, and we will upgrade your membership and issue you a library card.
Full membership
A full membership provides access to the complete collection of resources at our libraries and online.
To join, visit any of our branches and bring identification that shows your name and current address on it.
If you don't have any suitable forms of identification, please contact the library to discuss alternatives.
Please note: Children under the age of 15 require a parent or guardian to sign the application form.
Libraries Victoria - One Card
Your Swan Hill Library card gives you a Libraries Victoria - One Card membership, granting access to 24 library services and 250+ branches across Victoria with nearly 3 million items to borrow.
With your Swan Hill Library Card you can:
- borrow physical items from any sharing Libraries Victoria library service
- pay library fines and fees at any participating library
- access to nearly 3 million items across our Victoria public library collections
Members of other participating libraries can also borrow from Swan Hill branches using their library cards.

Temporary membership
If you are not a Libraries Victoria member you can join the Swan Hill Library as a temporary member.
Temporary members will need to provide identification and pay a refundable deposit.
