How do I join the library?
Fill in our online application form to join the library
You can also complete an application form at your local library or the Mobile Library. You need to show identification with your name and current address on it.
You may need to join as a temporary member if you do not live permanently in:
- Swan Hill Rural City
- Buloke Shire
- Murray River Shire
- Gannawarra Shire
Please note: Children under the age of 15 require a parent or guardian to sign the application form.

Membership is free for permanent residents of:

- Buloke Shire
- Murray River Shire
- Gannawarra Shire
Can I join the library if I am just visiting the area?
Members of other Victorian libraries belonging to Libraries Victoria can use their own library card to borrow from all branches of the Swan Hill Library.
If your not a Libraries Victoria member you can join the Swan Hill Library as a temporary member.
Temporary members will need provide identification and pay a $20.00 refundable deposit. Temporary members can borrow up to 3 items at a time.
Can children have their own library cards?
Yes, children from as young as newborn can have their own library card.
What happens if I lose my library card?
If you lose your library card you will be charged a fee.
