How to enter

Send entries to library@swanhill.vic.gov.au . Please include:

    • Image titles
    • Your name
    • Your age
    • Contact phone number

Entries must be received by 5pm Friday, 26 March 2021.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award starts Monday, 29 March and finishes on Monday, 12 April on the Swan Hill Regional Library Facebook page.

The winners presentation will be held at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery on Wednesday, 21 April 2021 at 5 pm

YOUTHSPECTIVE 2021 GUIDELINES

We invite young people between 12 – 18 years of age from across our region to participate in the 2021 Youthspective Photography Competition by entering three of your best photographs depicting this years theme: MOVE

Photographs must be your original work, no Photoshop – so think outside the square, surprise us with your ingenuity, and have fun creating!

There are two age group categories: Judges Choice 12-14 years and Judges Choice 15-18 years as well as a People’s Choice Award in both age groups.

Please note your age as of the closing date for voting which is 5pm Monday, 26 March 2021.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Photographs must be submitted via email to library@swanhill.vic.gov.au.

Emails must include: photograph/s, the photographer’s name, age (see above), the title of the entry and a daytime phone number.

You may enter up to 3 photographs.

Colour or black and white images are acceptable.

Your entry must be certified as being original and unaided work and any source imagery must be indicated at the time of entry. Please note that an email from a teacher stating this will be sufficient to cover all entries from a school.

All entries must be submitted by 5pm Friday, 26 March 2021.

Judging will be conducted by local photographer, Glen Whitelaw in conjunction with representatives from NOVO Youth Council.

The judge’s decision is final.

People’s Choice voting, in both age categories, begins on Monday, 29 March and will take place on the Swan Hill Regional Library’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/swanhilllibrary. One ‘like’ will equal one vote. The picture with the most ‘likes’ wins. The closing date for voting will be 5pm Monday, 12 April 2021.

Photographs of the winners together with their names and ages may be used in publicity where the parents or guardians of the winners have given their consent.

The rules of the competition may not be changed or modified and will be strictly applied.

All personal information supplied will be used solely for the administration and management of the Swan Hill Regional Library Youthspective Photography Competition.

Winning images may be selected for use in print or on the internet for Swan Hill Rural City Council and local publications.

The major prize for the 15-18 years category is a GoPro HERO7 Silver 4k Action Video Camera – includes 1 year product care – valued at $347.

Prizes for each of the remaining category winners is to be decided by NOVO Youth Council.

Winners will be announced during Youth Week 16 – 24 April and presentations made at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery on Wednesday, 21 April 2021 at 5pm.

Winning entries will be displayed at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery Access Gallery following the presentation during May 2021, Swan Hill Library June 2021 and Robinvale Library July 2021.
